About the Presenter
As a product design leader focused on user-centered solutions, I’ve spent the last 16 years helping companies, big and small, enhance their product experiences, drive growth, and improve operational efficiency. My approach brings clarity and delight to product design.
Over the years, I’ve guided design teams in creating desirable yet viable solutions. I enjoy collaborating with cross-functional squads, looking beyond just feature updates to consider the long-term product and business vision. I like fostering a design-driven culture that encourages innovation and puts the user first throughout the product cycle.
Working closely with teams, getting into the nitty-gritty of users’ lives and business contexts – that’s where I thrive. At the end of the day, it’s about making products that people love to use, while pushing the business forward.
Doc-as-a-Service (The Product Management)
The Presenter: Zeba Shireen
Current Role: Product Documentation Specialist
Company: Couchbase
About the Session
The session introduces Doc-as-a-Service (DaaS), an approach that treats documentation as a strategic product. From a product management perspective, DaaS means handling documentation with the same principles used for customer-focused products—focused on solving specific user needs, measuring value, iterating based on feedback, and delivering scalable solutions.
With DaaS, the documentation function is transformed from a passive support role into a proactive, user-centered service. It involves creating documentation that is always accessible, up-to-date, and structured around the user’s needs rather than product features alone.
This approach can involve delivering documentation through APIs, creating modular content pieces for different channels, or utilizing AI to provide personalized help.
About the Presenter
I am a Product Documentation Specialist and a certified Product Owner. With 12+ years of experience in Technical Writing, I have developed a strong expertise in creating clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation for various domains, such as BFS, Insurance, and Retail.
I have also acquired skills in goal setting, professional development, strategic thinking, and communication, which help me to enhance my performance and contribute to the success of the organization. My passion is to create impactful documentation that meets the needs and expectations of the end-users and the business.
How design thinking creates user-centric content
The Presenter: Srilatha P
Current Role: Lead Technical Writer
Company: Automation Anywhere
About the Session
In this presentation, I will cover how the adoption of design thinking principles to our content development process led us to create content that meets the needs of our users. This led to successful outcomes, such as improved customer satisfaction, increased user adoption and self-support, achieving our business goals as a team, and elevating the product documentation team internally.
This presentation will walk the audience through sample scenarios in which we identified user problems, ideated on how to address them through design thinking principles, created content models, improved the content models through user research, and finally made this content available to all our customers.
Through these sample scenarios, I will share with the audience a toolkit to help implement such an approach along with best practices and lessons learned through our journey of adoption.
About the Presenter
During my professional journey of 20 years, my diverse experience from a medical language specialist to instructional designer to technical writer, helps me make complex information accessible and user-friendly.
Beyond writing, I am actively involved in strategic initiatives like user research, competitive analysis, and developing in-product user assistance to enhance UX.
I also enjoy mentoring new team members, sharing knowledge and supporting them as they grow in their roles.
Outside of work, you will find me immersed in a good book, surrounded by snacks—a perfect combination for recharging my creativity!
