TWT In-Person Conferences

Starting from August 20, 2022 till July 22, 2023, Tech Writer’s Tribe has organised 12 in-person events in a span of 11 months in 6 different cities of India. The conferences include two regional conferences also and have been hosted at company venues, such as Rocket Software and Sagitec Solutions (Pune), HPE (Bengaluru) and Broadcom (Hyderabad) as multiple public venues.

Maharashtra Regional Conference (Feb 3)

Gujarat Regional Conference (Feb 17)

The fourth conference organised by Tech Writer’s Tribe in Pune saw around 100 participants for a full-day event with insightful sessions and knowledge-sharing.

The conference saw multiple sessions on topics related to video documentation, technical writing, UX Writing, SEO Demystification and How to become a good manager. The Quick bites saw presenters sharing information about Using How to Videos, Prompt Tuning and Using Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) principles at workplace.

The first-ever conference organised in Gujarat for tech writers saw a full house where tech writers from different cities of Gujarat joined at Ahmedabad for a full-day event.

The conference saw multiple sessions and a panel discussion with the leaders. There were two sessions from those who had a background in B.Tech/Computers and chose technical writing as career. A fresher, Sanjeevani Agarwal highlighted her transition from a coder to a technical writer while an experienced technical writer Anima Palshikar shared knowledge about the art of Competition Analysis. Leaders from Knovos, Rutesh Dave and Akshay discussed about Customer Empathy, whereas experience professional, Suyog Ketkar shared a presentation with workshop on how to get most from SMEs.

Three leaders, Chandrark Sangani, Anand Mehta and Manisha Chhaya, shared insights about the current and future requirements in technical documentation.

The second conference organised by Tech Writer’s Tribe in Pune saw around 100 participants for a half-day event with insightful sessions and knowledge-sharing.

The conference commenced with a session titled Becoming a REST API Specialist Technical Writer delivered by Gyanesh Talwar. The second session, SME, Technical Writer and Documentation, was conducted by Servesha Sunil Dudhgaonkar. The following session, titled Finding Foothold in the Era of AI, was a joint effort by Kedar Kulkarni and Gaurav Srivastava. The conference concluded with a session by Manasi Bhalerao, titled Improving UX of Tech Docs.

TWT hosted the third regional offline conference in Bengaluru at HPE office. 

First session was AI Writing – Threat to Writers? presented by
Diana Divya S V and Thanuja V. Poornima Rajesh and Morris James Frank conducted the second session which was on SaaS documentation.

Group Activity: UI/UX Workshop was the topic of Session 3 which was followed by a panel discussion AI – Boon or Bane for Tech Writers. 

TWT would like to thank Sandhya and Sunitha who helped the community by providing the venue for the conference and extended complete support in organising the event.

TWT Kerala offline conference started with a traditional way of lighting the lamp by the speakers and Punit Srivastava. Punit presented an introduction about TWT and the relevance of the technical writing industry in Kerala.

With the participation of almost 50 people in a full-day event, the conference saw the collaboration of writers from different organisations.

Gopalkrishna Tharoor led the way by presenting the first session, Product Specification Document—Beneficial Aspects. Sandhya Meenakshy Nair presented the second session, From Print to Pixel—Effective Documentation in an Evolving World, in which she introduced the audience to different levels of users. In the third session for the day, Offline to Online Docs—Based on a Real Story, Mridula Menon shared her success story of migrating GreyOrange’s documentation from offline to online.

After lunch, the learning resumed with a Panel Discussion by Aiswarya Sudhakar, Gopu Sankar, and Sreekesh S V, in which they expressed their views about the opportunities and challenges of technical writing in Kerala while answering the questions by Punit Shrivastava.

The conference came to an end with the session, How Tech Writers Can Inspire Product Usage, by Nibu Thomas. During the interval between sessions, people communicated and interacted, which was the primary objective of the conference.

TWT Chennai team, Deepa Siddharthan and Jude Dominic Almeida, organised the second offline conference to impart knowledge from industry experts. Several interactive sessions were conducted among fellow writers from different parts of the country.

During the day, conference participants had the opportunity to choose among various sessions to discuss topics and develop recommendations.

This offline technical writing conference has discussion on Producing Generative AI-friendly content by Selvaraaju, Out of Box Thinking by Shanti Narayanan, API documentation using Swagger by Pravin Kumar followed by a panel discussion on AI – A Friend or Foe for Tech Writers. Panellists are Kripya Solutions’ Documentation Services Manager Jayashree Jayachandran, 16+ years experienced Sathya Dhayalan, Arcserve’s Technical Communications Manager Gayatri Nair, and Deepa Siddharthan, Principal Technical Writer at Oracle.

Once again, TWT brought together a marvellous array of resources to create an exciting, interactive event.

TWT Conferences in 2022

Tech Writer’s Tribe started the journey of in-person conferences in August, 2022. In the process becoming the first platform of tech writers in India and the world to conduct offline event post-COVID for tech writers. By the end of year, within a span of 5 months TWT organised 5 such events in 4 different cities of India.

The first-ever conference organised by Tech Writer’s Tribe got an overwhelming response wherein unfortunately we couldn’t accommodate all and registration had to be closed at 80.
