Topic: Succeeding with Stakeholders: My Learnings So Far

About the Session

Strong soft skills are as important as strong technical skills. A typical day in the life of any technical writer involves dealing with different stakeholders, from a developer/tester to a Support engineer, to complete a documentation task or resolve feedback. Sometimes, these discussions are not so simple or straightforward, emotions might come into the picture, and diplomacy is required for a smooth resolution.

In this session, fellow writers will learn how to:

  • Work effectively with challenging engineers to gather inputs, complete technical reviews, and close documentation tasks in an Agile setup.
  • Collaborate better with cross-functional teams such as Support, Services, and even Customers.
  • Respond and resolve not-so-good feedback on content.
  • Establish credibility as strong technical writers and individuals by efficiently handling all the above scenarios.

Key takeaway: Examples from professional experience to work successfully with different stakeholders.
